From within
BornArab is built by people who know these references because we grew up with them too.
BornArab started with a simple idea. The things we grew up with deserve a place in the homes we are building today.
Read our story ↓The same phrases our mothers repeated a thousand times. The same plates that only came out when guests were coming. The same songs in the car. The same family jokes.
The little things you don't really think about until you're far from home.
They stay with you. A street you used to walk through. Your grandmother's house. A smell from a kitchen. A saying your parents still use. A city you might not even live in anymore.
Those memories were everywhere in our lives, but strangely hard to find in the art we wanted to put in our homes.
Not somebody else's version of Arab culture. Not something made from clichés. Not something that simply looked "Middle Eastern."
We wanted pieces built from the references we actually know. Our cities. Our families. Our architecture. Our humour. Our memories. Our faith.
Something you could look at and recognise immediately.
BornArab is built by people who know these references because we grew up with them too.
Arab culture is far bigger than flags, monuments and stereotypes. We want the quieter details too.
Our roots can live naturally inside contemporary homes without losing the stories behind them.
“Sometimes it takes leaving home to realise how many small things made it feel like home.”
BornArab comes from that feeling.
We may come from different Arab countries. We speak differently, eat differently and grew up in different cities. But somehow, there are things we recognise in each other immediately.
That's the space I want BornArab to live in. Somewhere between memory, identity and the homes we're creating for ourselves now.
This brand is ours.
By us, for us.
Contemporary art inspired by the places, memories and references that connect us.
